The roots of the firm lie in the firms established by Pat Poovaligam in 1973 and Greg Larson in 1994. Pat was a dynamic and well loved attorney in Durban who practiced law in difficult times without fear or favour. He was later joined by Yahya Hassan and Reeves Parsee who joined forces with Larson Falconer Inc in October 2012.
Larson Falconer Inc was established in 1994 by Greg Larson. Patrick Falconer and Nic Kinsley joined up with Greg in 1997 and 2003 respectively and grew from strength to strength.
The amalgamated firm of Larson Falconer Hassan Parsee Inc LFHP moved into its new premises in Ridgeside Office Park overlooking the Indian Ocean and within the Gateway precinct in 2012. It draws from the ethos of each of its founding firms and forms one vision for professionalism and philanthropy whilst providing both variety and specialisation in their legal services. The diversity within our ranks and our shared commitment to the tenets of the rule of law are our formidable strengths.

Patrick Falconer is a Director of Larson Falconer Hassan Parsee Inc. Patrick was admitted as an attorney in 1992 and joined the firm in 1997. Patrick specializes in all matters of business law, High Court and Constitutional Court litigation, land claims and personal injury matters. He is an accomplished attorney in the truest sense of the word.
Patrick enjoys the outdoor life riding both bicycles and motor bikes and has a wide circle of friends and clients. He enjoys listening to music.
Patrick sits on a number of Boards who benefit from his wisdom.
Yahya Hassan is a Director of Larson Falconer Hassan Parsee Inc. He was admitted as an Attorney in 1995 and as a Conveyancer in 1999. His areas of speciality include High Court Litigation; Civil and Commercial Law; Insurance Law (particularly Short-Term Insurance); Property Development and Building Construction Work. Yahya has gained experience in the laws of Trusts; Human Rights and Constitutional matters.
In addition Yahya is an ADR Group Civil and Commercial Mediator ( London, United Kingdom) and an admitted Solicitor of the Law Society of England and Wales. Yahya enjoys running; cycling and has recently started playing golf.
Reeves Parsee is a Director of Larson Falconer Hassan Parsee Inc. He has been in private practice for 28 years. He has a BA degree (majoring in law, political science and philosophy) and a (LLB). Reeves was admitted as an Attorney in 1992.His areas of practice include high court and magistrate’s court litigation; drafting of special contracts; criminal and asset forfeiture litigation; commercial law; tax, customs and excise; copyright; counterfeit and trade mark related law; delictual claims involving claims against police; medical negligence and defamation.
Reeves is involved in numerous charitable endeavors which includes being a legal advisor for the Rama Krishna Centre of South Africa, legal advisory desks and help desks within the practice for indigent and needy litigants. Reeves enjoys running, soccer and tennis.
Nicolas Kinsley is a Director of Larson Falconer Hassan Parsee Inc.
Nicolas graduated from University of KwaZulu Natal (PMB) with a BA, LLB in 1995. He served Articles in Pietermaritzburg and was admitted as an attorney and conveyancer in 1998.
He practiced as a civil and criminal litigation attorney in Pietermaritzburg and Durban before joining Larson Falconer Inc in 2003 as a director. Nic’s practice consists predominantly of a commercial litigation/ banking practice.
He also assists his clients with commercial issues and has developed a keen interest in the construction industry. Nic also lectures post-graduate students in High Court Procedure at the School of Practical Legal Training.
Nic is an enthusiastic sportsman, who enjoys running, cycling, swimming and canoeing and a successful tri-athlete having competed with merit in many triathlons both locally and internationally.
Tamara Botha is a Senior Associate Attorney at Larson Falconer Hassan Parsee Incorporated in our litigation department. Tamara joined Larson Falconer Incorporated in 2000 to serve articles, and has 20 years’ experience as an attorney with the firm.
Tamara specialises in High Court and Magistrate Court litigation, contractual disputes and debt recoveries with a particular focus on recoveries on behalf of clients in the banking sector and ejectment/eviction proceedings and lease agreement disputes.
Tamara has general practical experience in drafting, enforcing, reviewing and providing opinions on credit agreements and lease agreements, providing advice on the application and implementation of the provisions of the National Credit Act and the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Act, providing advice to body corporates on the management and rules of sectional title schemes, advising clients on contractual law, matrimonial law and disputes between landlord and tenant, drafting Magistrates and High Court pleadings and general debt recovery.

Muhammad Yusuf Jamal (often referred to simply as “MJ”) is an Associate Attorney in Yahya Hassan’s department, who graduated with his LLB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2016, whereafter he chose to further his studies by enrolling for his LLM with the University of the Western Cape, with a focus on International Humanitarian and Human Rights Law.
Muhammad completed his practical vocational training in February 2020 at the firm of Attorneys Anand-Nepaul, following which he was employed as the Group Legal Advisor for a national FMCG manufacturer, during which time he gained substantial corporate and commercial experience. Muhammad joined LFHP in September 2022 and was admitted as an attorney in October 2022.
Muhammad is a member of the Golden Key Society and has held executive positions at the Howard College Debating Union as well as the Muslim Students Association.
Muhammad’s passions include martial arts, wildlife and photography. He is also learning to ride a motorcycle and considers himself to be a seasoned cinephile.
Emishka graduated with her LLB degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Howard College in the year 2016 and joined the firm as a Candidate Attorney in 2017. She was admitted as an Attorney in May 2019 and currently works as a professional associate in Reeves Parsee’s department. Emishka specialises in litigation, insurance, commercial, matrimonial and administration of estates.
Graduated with a BComm LLB from UNISA in 2013 and joined the firm in 2014 as a Candidate Attorney. Cammrynn is an Associate Attorney in Patrick Falconer’s department specialising in commercial law and High Court litigation. Cammrynn was admitted as an Attorney in April 2016.
